World Forum comes to Redmond! Macdonald Sembereka just called — Maphunziro Foundation, Balaka, Malawi. He is visiting friends nearby. We had a bit of catch-up since he was unable to be at the World Forum in Honolulu. He was in New York for a UN General Assembly on HIV/AIDS, as part of the delegation from Malawi. He had responsibilities for sharing about issues around young children and said they worked on a new declaration, a new commitment. He will write a report on the experience and outcomes for us. He also wanted to hear how the different WF groups he is involved in are doing. I think he was kind of proud of his MECE group. It’s crazy when people from different parts of our lives step into different places! Surprising, exciting, fun.

    Dear Carol,

Best wishes for your studies! You can learn a great deal about our work on our website. We don’t actually provide services to children–we support the people who do. If you have a particular country or topic you are working on, I could work to connect you to someone in that place or who focuses on that topic. There is an article on global trends in the July/August issue of Exchange which would also be available on our website. Bonnie

    Hi Bonnie,
My name is Carol Brewton. I am currently living in the United States working on my M.S. in Early Childhood Studies with a specialization in Administration, Management, and Leadership. For the next 8 weeks, I will be studying issues and trends in the early childhood field. My assignment for these 8 weeks are to establish contact with early childhood professionals outside the United States. I found your blog on the World Forum website, and see that you have contact with alot of professionals worldwide. I will be greatly appreciative if you will share with me some information on your programs and services for young children in diverse settings. Also, information on the issues and trends in your area. Thanks, Carol

Bnne, it was good speaking to you. Indeed am proud of my association with WOFO and the MECE in particular. I am also involved in the carricullum team and happy to be party to it.

Was glad to hear about MacDonald. We have been friends since the WF in Montreal. I haven’t heard from him in awhile, but I know he often comes to the UN General Assembly on HIV/AIDs and gives his tireless efforts to increase awareness and get help.
    Thanks for the information.
