Who's the Target Audience?
The target audience for this kit is beginning and intermediate teachers working with infants and toddlers. Teachers will explore infant and toddler dramatic or pretend play and ways to facilitate early dramatic play experiences.

Training Outcomes:

1. Teachers will understand the importance and value of dramatic play with all children, particularly infants and toddlers.
2. Teachers will explore ideas for educating parents and other caregivers about the importance of playing with their children.

These training outcomes address the following:

• A-10, B-5b, B-5c, B-7a of the Accreditation Criteria and Procedures of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC, 1998).
• Standards 1, 3, 4a, and 4b of NAEYC Standards for Early Childhood Professional Preparation, Initial Licensure Level (NAEYC, 2003).
• 1304.21(a)(1)(iv), 1304.21(a)(2)(ii), 1304.21(a)(3)(i)(A), and 1304.21(b)(1)(iii) of Head Start Performance Standards (Federal Register, Nov. 5, 1996, Volume 61, Number 215).
