Who's the Target Audience?
The target audience for this kit is beginning teachers working with young children from birth to age 8. Teachers will learn about making effective classroom rules.

Kit Timeline:
Preperation time for this kit is from 30 minutes to 1.0 hours. Implementation time is approximately 1.5 clock hours.

Training Outcomes:

1. Teachers will explore the idea of setting rules in the classroom setting.
2. Teachers will assess the developmental appropriateness of their classroom rules.
3. Teachers will recognize appropriate formats for classroom rules.
4. Teachers will re-evaluate classroom rules to consider modifying or amending them.

• A-6a; A-6b of the Accreditation Criteria and Procedures of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC, 1998).
• 1 and 4b of NAEYC Standards for Early Childhood Professional Preparation, Initial Licensure Level (NAEYC, 2003).
